The City of Coos Bay operates on a Council/Manager form of government with a Mayor and six Councilors, all volunteer positions, elected by the citizens.
Under this system, the City Council sets policies which are then implemented by the City Manager who is selected and serves at the pleasure of the Council.

Troy Cribbins was appointed to Council in June 2023. He filled a vacancy left by Rob Miles.
Councilor Cribbins has lived in Coos Bay for over 16 years. This is where he and his wife raised a family and where he started a small business. He is a Doctor of Physical Therapy as well as a practicing Physical Therapist. Currently, he is the Administrator of Pacific Home Health and Hospice.
